My Experience With Hola Neon Lipstick Balm Call Me (Review):

I received this lipstick in one of my Birchbox beauty subscription boxes.

There are so many types of lipsticks out there 👉🏻 matte, satin, glossy, liquid, lip crayons, tints, and tinted balms. Most usually come in either matte, velvety, or glossy finishes. Since I have chapped and pigmented lips, I always lean toward creamy lipsticks or tinted balms to keep my lips nourished and colorful. Though I do love a good matte lipstick with a hydrating formula, it’s always a hit or miss 😕.

Product Packaging:

This product comes in a pretty green-and-purple card box. The lipstick balm itself is housed in a clear, rectangular tube with a metallic pink (almost fuchsia) inner casing that holds the bullet. All the necessary info like ingredients, shelf life, company details, etc. is printed on the card box. The shade name Call Me is written on the base of the lipstick on a reddish-brown circular sticker. I personally love the sleek, minimalist packaging, it looks so pretty 😍!

Product Texture:

Birchbox offered a few shade options that month, and being a brown girl with a warm Indian skin tone, I picked ‘Call Me’. The brand describes it as a rosy nude shade. However, to me, it looks more like warm peachy-brown nude. The formula has a creamy texture and a subtle artificial fragrance.

Hola Neon’s tinted Lipstick Balm range comes in 6 shades: Dine Me (Coral), Trust Me (Fuchsia Pink), Love Me (Red), 69 Me (Soft Pink), Wine Me (Mulberry), and Call Me (Rosy Nude).

Product Performance:

This is actually the first product I’ve tried from Hola Neon. The brand describes their lipstick balms as a hybrid between lipstick and lip balm. Honestly, the name fits perfectly because it has the look of a classic lipstick bullet but works like a moisturizing balm. To me, it’s basically a simple, hydrating lipstick 🙂.

Application-wise, the Hola Neon Lipstick Balm glides beautifully, reaching every nook and cranny and shaping the lips perfectly. Its smooth, even application makes it a great pick for us dry-lipped folks. On first swipe, it gives a glossy sheen, but the shine does fade after a few hours. The intensity of that shine also depends on how much lip balm you’ve layered underneath (you don’t need extra lip balm with this, still) 😄!

Although ‘Call Me’ is marketed as a rosy nude, it looks more peachy-brown nude on my pigmented lips and medium-dark skin tone. I’d say this nude shade adapts to different skin tones quite well. On fair or pale skin, it’ll look rosy as shown on their official page. On dark skin tones, I feel it might lean a little coral pink. On medium skin with dark lips (like mine), the color matches the lipstick bullet, muted peachy brown with rosy undertones.

Pigmentation-wise, ‘Call Me’ isn’t super intense. You’ll need at least 3–4 swipes for an opaque finish and full coverage. I’ve tried pairing it with brown, nude, and mauve lip liners, and the results were amazing. The liners even change the shade sometimes! While I don’t usually wear glosses, you can definitely top this with one for an extra glam look.

As for staying power, this Hola Neon Lipstick Balm lasts a decent amount of time. Thanks to its balmy texture, it doesn’t survive oily food but honestly, that’s not a dealbreaker for me since reapplying is so easy.

It feels light and comfortable, keeping dryness and flakiness away. Just make sure you exfoliate your lips beforehand. You can even skip your regular lip balm because this works as a tinted balm itself 😍.

Overall, this has become my go-to everyday hydrating lipstick, and I can’t recommend it enough ❤️!

What I Like About/Pros of Hola Neon Lipstick Balm ‘Call Me’:

  • Super hydrating lipstick balm
  • A beautiful natural, rosy nude/peachy brown shade (for medium dark skin tones)
  • Adds a nice glossy sheen
  • Makes lips feel softer, smoother, and naturally colored
  • Keeps dry lips moisturized throughout the day
  • Lightweight and comfortable to wear
  • Flattering on brown skin tones and lovely on fair skin as well
  • Comes in 6 different colors and a decent size
  • Sleek, pretty packaging

  • Affordable.

What I Dislike About/Cons of Hola Neon Lipstick Balm ‘Call Me’:

  • Available only on the brand’s official site
  • Does not provide full coverage in one swipe!
  • It’s more of a tinted balm in a soft, muted color. If you want the punch of a full lipstick, you might want to explore their regular lipstick range.

EE Rating:

4.9/5

Conclusion:

Hola Neon Lipstick Balm ‘Call Me’ is a lovely hybrid of lipstick and lip balm in a peachy-brown nude shade with rosy undertones, making it the perfect everyday option for medium‑dark skin beauties with dry lips. The shade flatters almost every skin tone, but I personally find it especially gorgeous on brown skin 😉. I’m genuinely pleased with this coconut‑infused tinted lipstick balm. It keeps my lips moisturized, feels super comfortable, and offers decent staying power ❤️.
