In my last post, I showed you what’s inside the John Lewis & Partners Christmas Crackers which was a part of their Spirit of Christmas hamper. And today, I am going to review this hamper and show you what’s inside it! Without further ado, let’s start unboxing the John Lewis & Partners Spirit of Christmas hamper.

Honestly, I was super tempted to open this hamper as soon as we got it and publish the unboxing post and video for all of you. But it’s a Christmas special hamper! Plus, as a reviewer, it’s my habit to test the product first and then share my views. Hence, on Christmas Day, we opened the parcel in the morning and tried a few yummy treats (Guess what? We’ve almost finished the treats 😁). 

So, what’s my opinion on this hamper? Is this hamper a good gift for your foodie friend? Is this Spirit of Christmas hamper worth it? Now let me show you what’s inside this Christmas gift hamper-

1. Gold Crown Jewel Slab

A Velvety rich true jewel fruit slab cake packed full of succulent, delicious glace cherries, sultanas, almonds, and apricot jam, topped with gold dust, cherries, pecan nuts, and almonds. 

This gold crown jewel slab cake is so delicious and perfect for a celebration or just for tea. We’ve had this cake with tea only. If you have or your friend has a sweet tooth, this one is perfect!

2. Mr.Filbert’s Honey & Peppercorn Mixed Nuts, 50g

Mr Filbert’s Peanuts, Almonds, and Cashews are hot air roasted and then tumbled with the finest honey and pink peppercorns to create a gourmet snack to delight the senses.

Oh My God! These delectable sweet and salty mixed nuts are so crunchy and tasty! These contain 100% natural ingredients and are suitable for vegetarians. I had finished this packet in one go! Yes, my husband got only a few nuts from the packet 😀 I am a salty/spicy snacks lover, so I LOVED these mixed nuts! It went well with the red wine as well. 

3.  Orchard Preserves Christmas Chutney, 200g

A delightful chutney made with Apples, Sultanas, Cranberries, Onion is the perfect accompaniment to lunch! 

We tried this chutney with roasted meat and on sandwiches, found it good, if not better!

4. Orchard Strawberry Preserves Christmas Jam, 227g

A beautifully soft-set strawberry preserve that is strong, sweet, and exploding with flavor. It is perfect for spreading on a scone, toast, tarts, or filling a cake!

We are in love with this delightful Orchard strawberry jam, so yummy! I love the packaging as well.

5. Quillo White Truffle Crisps, 130g

The brand says these gourmet crisps are presented in a fabulous Spanish-style! Firstly, they are hand fried at a low temperature in olive oil to deliver a flavorsome crunch. After that, they are delicately flavored with naturally-harvested sea-salt crystals (‘Flor de Sal‘) and the delicate aroma of white truffle. The two flavors together make these a gourmet treat! Made in Valencia, our Quillo crisp range will bring a taste of Spain to your home!

We both love chips, and these gourmet hand-fried truffle crisps have a distinct flavor! We quite enjoy these crisps with wine and tea.

6. Gold Crown Christmas Pudding, 350g

A boxed Christmas pudding packed with sultanas and blended with cider is deliciously rich and fruity. It is suitable for vegetarians. Tastes delicious with ice cream, custard, or brandy butter. Prepare in the microwave or by steaming. 

We haven’t yet tried this pudding as the preparation involves a little work. But as soon as I’ll try this pudding, I’ll update this blog post plus post on my social media channels. If you have tried this already, do not forget to share your experience with me in the comment section.

7.  Grandma Wild’s Belgian Dark Chocolate Shortbread Trees, 165g

Feast on these luxury Christmas biscuits from the celebrated family bakery, Grandma’s Wild’s. Look at the beautiful design!

All butter shortbread is baked into festive Christmas tree shapes and then completely coated in thick, dark chocolate. These rich biscuits are given a fun finishing touch, being hand-decorated with a sugar sparkle crunch. This sweet crunch combines with the crumbly biscuits and indulgent chocolate to create a luxury biscuit perfect for dunking in your favorite tea.

The pack contains six biscuits, all smartly presented in a gold box. These biscuits make a stylish gift for foodies or bring them out when Christmas guests visit. Alternatively, keep them to yourself and enjoy them with a cuppa when the festive fun has quietened down (Yes, we are doing this only)! 

Even if you didn’t get the chance to try these biscuits during Christmas, grab these whenever you find them online. These are absolutely yummy!

8. Linden Lady 12 Chocolates, 125g

The packet contains a 12 piece handmade luxury selection of delicious chocolates. If you are a chocolate addict, then this is something you’ll enjoy for sure! I didn’t refrigerate these decorated chocolates, yet they are quite firm and tight, not moist. For me, it’s one chocolate at a time; they are too sweet to eat!

9. Little’s Christmas Flavour Ground Coffee, 100g

The brand says, super high-quality Arabica coffee infused with the festive flavors of orange, brandy, cinnamon, and vanilla. Best enjoyed as a drip filter or French press. Not suitable for home espresso machines.

Are you an authentic coffee lover? Then get this ground coffee ASAP! The taste and aroma of this ground coffee are amazing.

10.  Santa Lucia Merlot, 75cl (Grape variety, 100% Merlot)

A lovely soft and smooth red wine with a highly intense purple-red color, with spicy notes and hints of cherries, blackcurrants, and small red berry jam.

I love red wine, what’s your favorite? All I can say is, the Santa Lucia Marlot is definitely the best red wine we have tried so far!

11. John Lewis Prosecco, 75cl

A light, bubbly, and refreshing sparkling wine with a sweet fruity taste, surely does set the fun mood. This is for the first time we’ve tried Prosecco.  Honestly, at first, we were skeptical about it. The good news is, it tastes amazing!

12. John Lewis “Merry Christmas” Gold Christmas Crackers x8

A cool box of 8 gold crackers filled with surprising products! I’ve already reviewed it and showed you what items we got inside those crackers in my last post. It makes the perfect gift for Christmas or any festival.

Except for the Gold Crown Jewel Slab cake which is way too sweet for my liking, I liked everything. It gets 4.8 stars out of 5 from us.

So, my friends, the John Lewis Christmas Hamper contains all these luxury goodies. If you ask me whether this hamper is worth it or not, my answer would be YES, IT’S WORTH IT! The hamper boasts a lovely selection of gourmet food and treats that make an ideal gift for Christmas, New Year, as well as your foodie-friends Birthdays or Good Luck in your friend’s New Home!
