Is there anyone who doesn’t like shopping? If you’re that person, this post is not for you, sorry! No, I am not endorsing shopping or shopaholism (guilty as charged) here. However, over the years, I have learned to go for intentional purchases rather than impulse buys. Now, I only buy products that I truly need in my life (cute toys don’t count, though)!
Recently, I bought a couple of beauty products from India and the UK. In this post, I’ll be sharing them, along with a few products that impressed me during this trip. Keep reading!

PLUM Age Specialist Bright Years Restorative Overnight Creme (for normal, dry and sensitive skin), 50ml
I love this vegan brand and have used a number of products from them. I got this Restorative Overnight Creme from the H&G beauty store in Chennai.

PLUM Age Specialist Bright Years Restorative Overnight Creme
I needed a hydrating night cream for my combination skin, and its formula seemed ideal. It’s composed of plant stem cell extracts to improve skin renewal, clinically proven wrinkle-fighting natural actives, and good old plant-derived hydrators. Let’s see if this works for my skin!
I tried to find it online, but couldn’t find this specific product on their official site. I am not sure if it’s discontinued or what! Let me know if you have any idea about this product.
You can read all PLUM product reviews on my other award-winning blog, ‘Natural Beauty And Makeup‘ 🙂.
The Derma Co 2% Kojic Acid Face Cream For pigmentation (30g, paraben and SLS free):
The second skincare product I got for my pigment-prone skin is this 2% Kojic Acid moisturizer from The Derma Co.

It claims to lighten the skin tone, minimize the recurrence of discoloration, and even out skin tone in as early as three weeks! Its key ingredients are glycolic acid, ionic acid, vitamin C, and turmeric. Hence, I have high expectations from this face cream. I hope this cream gets rid of discoloration and dark spots on my skin 😭.
Last time I tried a Kojic Acid-infused serum, it worked great for my skin. Now, I am looking forward to using this Derma Co cream every day to keep all my acne spots and pigmentation at bay!

Dot & Key Strawberry Dew Sunscreen Stick, SPF 50+:
The next product I got is this Dot & Key Strawberry Dew Sunscreen Stick with SPF 50+. This is my first-ever sunscreen stick, and I am so excited about it 😍!

It has a fragrance-free formula and offers high UV and blue-light protection. It also features a 120-minute water- and sweat-resistant formula.
I use sunscreen every day, indoors or outdoors, no matter what! So, a sunscreen stick will come in handy when I am outdoors. The brand claims that its sunscreen stick doesn’t leave a white cast. It is hydrating, dry-touch, and non-greasy, and absorbs quickly for a dewy finish.
Let’s see if these claims are true! I’ll soon share my full review with you all. Stay tuned!
Jovees Herbal Avocado Revitalising Night Cream with Cereal Protein:
I have heard a lot about this Jovees night cream, so I got this moisturizer too! I have tried multiple products from this brand since my college days, so I trust this Indian brand.

I don’t like avocado as a fruit, but I also know it’s super good for our skin and health. I am super excited to try this night cream 🩷.
Have you tried this yet?
Himalaya Purifying Neem Face Mask:
I have been using this herbal Neem pack from Himalaya since my college days. It’s absolutely wonderful for oily skin, so I usually reach for it during the summer months or whenever my skin feels congested. I love trying the herbal and natural face packs from this brand, and this one is definitely my go-to. You can sometimes find it at Indian stores in the UK too!

Now, let me share the makeup products that I bought from India.
I actually went to the MAC store at the Express Avenue Mall in Chennai. My previous MAC products had expired, so I needed to buy a few things.
MAC Fix It Setting Spray:
The first thing I got is this iconic setting spray. The sales assistant tried a few products on my face, and this was one of them!

I was told it can be used before and after the makeup is done. I hate it when my makeup doesn’t look flawless. I hope it fixes the texture and sets my makeup 😉.
MAC Studio Fix Conceal & Correct Palette – Rich Yellow & Burnt Coral:
Then I got this Medium Deep Conceal and Correct Palette in Rich Yellow and Burnt Coral shades. This palette is suitable for NC40, NW40, NC42, and NW43 skin tones.

I am so confused about my shade. I’ve always known NC40 is my true shade, but this time, the makeup sales assistant at MAC told me he used products from the NC35 range on my skin. According to him, NC40 is not my shade! I couldn’t argue with him because the foundation looked perfect on my skin. I am truly a makeup newbie 😒!
Anyway, this palette has four concealers and two corrector shades. I had been using its previous liquid version in the same shades under my eyes to hide those ugly dark circles. I know I haven’t reviewed it on my blog yet. Lazy me 😂!
This is the first time I’ll be using a cream product, so I have no idea how it’ll work. It impressed me at the store, though!
MAC Lip Pencil shades Plum And Chicory:
Next, I got two lip pencils from MAC in the shades Plum and Chicory. You all know I am a huge lip liner girl. I don’t buy lipsticks at all. I just use my lip pencils/liners as lipstick and call it a day.
Anyway, I bought one lip liner, Plum, and got another one, Chicory, as a FREE gift from the store with my purchase 😬.
Plum lip pencil is a potent reddened plum colour, and Chicory is a soft, muted peachy-brown colour lip liner. I regret not taking photos at the store. Otherwise, I could have shared them with you now!
MAC 129S Makeup Powder Brush:
Then I got a powder brush from them. I actually wanted to buy a concealer brush and a blush brush, but the concealer one wasn’t available at the store. So, the assistant suggested this 100% synthetic, multi-purpose brush, which can be used for both powder and blush application.

H&G Nail’ed Nail Polish Bright Pink and Violet Vibe:
Next, I got two pretty nail paints from the H&G store in the shades Bright Pink and Violet Vibe. I haven’t tried the Violet one yet!

The Bright Pink shade looks absolutely gorgeous on my nails and lasts a long time 😉.
e.l.f. Matte Magic Mist & Set Spray:
I purchased this setting spray from Boots right before leaving for India. I visited India during peak summer, so I needed a spray to control shine and hydrate my skin.

This vegan setting spray is lightweight and does its job pretty well!
AVEENO Volumising Fresh Greens Shampoo:
I also bought this pH-balanced Aveeno Volumising Shampoo from Boots and carried it with me to India recently. I only use SLS-free shampoos these days, so it seemed perfect for my tresses.

It kept my scalp and hair clean and hydrated without weighing them down.
The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density:
The last product in my haul is this lightweight multi-peptide hair serum from The Ordinary. Although I purchased it in the first week of August, I haven’t yet started using it on my hair. I’ll start using it once my INKEY List Caffeine serum is over.

My blogger friends rave about this lightweight, water-based serum. So, I was really curious about it and finally got my hands on this serum. Let’s see if this helps with my hair shedding and growth.
So, this was my mini beauty haul.
I also purchased several Indian traditional dresses this year, but I am not sharing them here. I’ll share the photos later once I wear them. We have so many festivals throughout the year, and every time I feel like I have nothing good to wear, lol 😬! Do you girls have the same problem?

Beauty Products That Impressed Me This Trip – The Keepers:
Now, let me share the seven beauty products that highly impressed me during my recent summer trip to India. Since this trip was more of a medical trip than a typical summer vacation, I took only a few products with me.
Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser With Peptides + 1% Niacinamide (Travel size):
Okay, so I normally use Simple Rich Moisturiser (read my review here) for my combination skin here in the UK. But since India’s weather, especially in Chennai (the city I visited), gets insanely hot during the summer season, I decided to take the lighter version of the Simple moisturiser. And I’m glad I did 😍.

I used it as my day moisturizer, followed by sunscreen, and my skin remained hydrated without being too greasy all day! I think I am going to get a bigger bottle of this product for next summer. I love it and highly recommend it to everyone.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMUNE 400+ Sunscreen with SPF 50+ (Anti-Dark Spots Fluid):
I have been using this sunscreen for the past year and totally loving it. It accompanied me during this trip as well and saved my skin from harsh sunburns, as it should!

My detailed review of it will be up soon. Stay tuned! But for now, one thing I must admit: this sunscreen truly does what it claims. It works great on dark spots too 🩷.

YENSA Super Serum Silk Powder Foundation – Medium 3:
If you have seen my YENSA beauty haul, you may remember this powder foundation was part of that haul. This shade, Medium 3, suits my Indian skin tone (NC40, warm, medium-dark) pretty well.

When I tried this Serum Silk powder foundation for the first time, I fell in love with it instantly. I am not a regular foundation user. I use foundation only when I am heading out for an event. Hence, for me, powder foundations are the best alternatives for travel and other outdoorsy work. What about you?
As the name suggests, it’s a powder foundation with a satin finish. So, during this summer trip, I applied it over my concealer and Kay Beauty HD loose powder [primer – concealer/corrector – loose powder – powder foundation] across my face and neck. The combo covered the blemishes and imparted a nice finish. I wish they could control sweat! I was happy with my overall makeup look, though 🩷.
e.l.f. Matte Magic Mist & Set Setting Spray:
During summers, especially in India’s hot summer weather, I sweat profusely. So, nothing actually stays on my face, no matter what! For this reason, I got this matte setting spray and took it with me to India.

This mighty spray did what it promised to do and kept all the shine at bay 😍! I must clarify that I have combination-to-dry skin. So, I normally use all kinds of hydrating mists and setting sprays throughout the year. The UK’s cold weather is no joke!
This e.l.f. setting spray is small and super affordable. So, I simply got this for the summertime, and it truly worked. Wohooo! However, I’ll use it thoroughly next year during the UK’s summer days too, and then I’ll share my detailed review with all of you.
During my recent trip, all I used was moisturizer, followed by sunscreen, powder foundation, eyeliner and lip liner, and lastly, this matte setting spray to lock in everything!
If you have oily skin or are looking for a matte setting spray, definitely get this one!

LAKME Eyeconic Kajal & Barry M Dark Pink Lip Liner:
I took a couple of eye and lip pencils with me, and among them, Lakme Eyeconic Kajal in Black and Barry M Pink Lip Liner did wonders!

Both the lip and eye liners didn’t budge throughout the day, and that pink lip liner didn’t dry out my lips either 😍!
NO7 Derm Solutions 100-Hour Hydration Cream:
This is an all-time favourite water-based hydrating cream ❤️. During the trip, I used it as my night cream because even though the weather was hot, the AC in the hotel room would dry out my skin. It didn’t disappoint me either!

This face cream goes well with all my oil-free foundations and powder foundations. I love this moisturizer and highly recommend it to everyone. Read my full review, here.
WILD Peachy Kisses refill + Reusable Deodorant case:
This year I took my favorite natural roll-on antiperspirant case and refill from Wild brand. I love their roll-on deodorants and this specific scent is just so sweet and lovely! I already shared my thoughts on this here, check it out. You can use my code ENCHANTING at checkout to get 20% off your purchase.
