My Experience With No 7 Hydration Cream (Review):

[Skin type – Combination (slightly leans towards dry), sensitive & acne prone]

No7’s dermatologist-approved Derm Solutions range offers products designed for specific skin types, including dry, oily, and acne-prone skin – no in-between options. My combination skin, which tends to become dry during winter and super oily in the summertime, led me to choose this particular hydration cream from the Dry Skin category, as hot summer days are limited in the UK (a bitter truth) 🙃! After using this moisturizer for the past few months, I can confidently say that I selected the perfect one for my skin.

Packaging – No 7 Derm Solutions 100 Hour Hydration Cream

Product Packaging:

This hydration cream comes in a 50ml white tube with a sturdy green-colored flip-top cap. All the details can be found on the packaging and on the official website. I carried it in a skincare pouch during my last trip to India, and it proved to be absolutely travel-friendly.

Texture – No 7 Derm Solutions 100 Hour Hydration Cream

Product Texture:

Boots No 7 hydration cream has a thick white creamy texture sans fragrance.

Product Performance:

I apply a generous amount of this hydration cream to moisturize my face and neck. This lightweight cream applies smoothly and is quickly absorbed into the skin. It has no scent, which is great for people with sensitive noses and skin.

The No 7 hydration cream is power-packed with some amazing skin-loving ingredients, including Niacinamide & Phytosphingosine (anti-acne), Tocopheryl Acetate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract & Tocopherol (anti-oxidants), as well as Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP,  Phytosphingosine, Cholesterol, and Ceramide EOP (Skin-identical agents), and soothing agents like Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5) and Bisabolol, to help support the skin’s moisture barrier and the natural makeup. Always check the ingredients before making a purchase for safety!

This nourishing moisturizer is also free from alcohol and essential oils, making it an ideal option for dry and acne-prone skin. I love that it moisturizes my skin without leaving any greasy feel or residue, even during the scorching summer months. Additionally, it is non-irritating and works well underneath makeup.

During the cold winter season, I always combine this hydration cream with my hydrating serums and face mists. However, during the sweaty summer months, I use it as a standalone moisturizer. With or without additional steps, it works great nonetheless ❤️!

On my face – No 7 Derm Solutions Hydration Cream

I wore this Derm Solutions hydration cream in India during the hot month of April. It didn’t make my skin oily or cause any breakouts. I also used this cream on a long-distance journey to test its 100-hour hydration claim (from my hometown in India to the UK). The journey took about 30 hours in total (including national and international flights), and throughout that time, it kept my skin hydrated and supple.

Since I haven’t worn this moisturizer for up to 100 hours to date, I cannot comment on that aspect. However, I believe it will keep your skin moisturized for up to 24-30 hours only! Honestly, my face starts itching if I don’t clean my skin and apply a moisturizer after 12 hours 🙃.

Those with combination to dry skin can use this moisturizer with or without serum and mist. But if you have severely dry skin or an eczema condition, this cream may not feel hydrating enough. Consider trying products from their ‘Targeted Skincare’ range.

If you have normal to oily skin, use this moisturizer during the winter season, as it contains anti-acne, anti-microbial, and soothing ingredients. If you’re interested in trying this variant, use it during the cold season. Alternatively, try moisturizers from their ‘OILY skincare’ range for regular use.

What I Like /Pros of No 7 Hydration Cream:

  • Gentle moisturizer
  • Alcohol free, essential oil and fragrance free
  • Made with nourishing, skin loving ingredients
  • Fast absorbing, lightweight moisturizer
  • Non-greasy
  • Can be worn under makeup
  • Great for combination to dry skin
  • Sensitive and acne-prone skin friendly
  • Easily available

What I Dislike /Cons of No 7 Hydration Cream:

  • Pricey for the quantity, it comes in a 50ml tube that won’t last long (for dry skin)
  • The packaging could be improved! A simple solution is to cut the tube and transfer the contents to another clean pot when it’s almost empty.

Rating:

4.8/5

Conclusion:

To sum up,

Boots No7 Derm Solutions 100-hour Hydration Cream is a fantastic, unscented, fast-absorbing moisturizer that instantly nourishes your skin without being greasy or heavy! This alcohol-free, niacinamide, and ceramide-infused moisturizer is perfect for combination to dry, sensitive, and acne-prone skin.

If you’re looking for a sensitive skin-friendly moisturiser for your combination or dry skin, give this one a try.

Will I Buy This Product Again?

Yes, definitely! I’ll also try their cleanser and serums from this range 🙂.
