Ingredients of SIMPLE Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser:
The SIMPLE brand has revamped the packaging and formula of this day moisturiser in 2022. I didn’t try the previous version, so don’t know much about it. I purchased this NEW formula from the Boots store this year. However, I can’t find this moisturiser on the Simple brand website! I can see its photo (the new version), but the product category features only the previous version. How weird😐! Therefore, I couldn’t find the ingredient list on the site. I researched the product and found it on the Ocado site with the detailed ingredients list.
The new version of rich moisturiser has skin smoothing actives such as Pro Vitamin B5, Vit E, and Niacinamide alongside other skin-loving ingredients. Check out these ingredients & their functions below ⬇️.
Aqua (solvent), Glycerin (moisturizer/humectant), Coco-caprylate/Caprate (emollient), Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate (emulsifying), Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (sunscreen), Stearyl Alcohol (emollient,surfactant/cleansing), Niacinamide (Vit B3, skin brightening, anti-acne, moisturizer/humectant), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane/Avobenzone (sunscreen), Polyacrylamide (viscosity controlling), Stearic Acid (emollient, viscosity controlling), Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5, soothing, moisturizer/humectant), Caprylyl Glycol (moisturizer/humectant, emollient), C13-14 Isoparaffin (emollient), Phenoxyethanol (preservative), Laureth-7 (surfactant/cleansing), Disodium EDTA (chelating), Sodium Hydroxide (buffering), Pantolactone (moisturizer/humectant), Tocopheryl Acetate (antioxidant, Vit E), BHT (antioxidant, preservative), Bisabolol (soothing), Citric Acid (buffering), Pentylene Glycol (moisturizer/ humectant), Urea (skin-identical ingredient, moisturizer/humectant), Lactic Acid (exfoliant, moisturizer/ humectant), Sodium Lactate (buffering, moisturizer/ humectant), Serine (skin-identical ingredient), Sorbitol (moisturizer/ humectant), Sodium Chloride (viscosity controlling), Allantoin (soothing) [Source: Ocado]

My Experience With Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser (day lotion):
My skin type: Combination, Dehydrated, Sensitive & Acne-prone
Winter is almost here, and so are my dry skin issues😒! I always look for nourishing moisturizers for my combination skin, as it becomes severe dry during the winter season. I have been using this day moisturizer since September (check out my beauty haul here)and am already half-way through the bottle. If you have a similar skin type, then keep reading 🙂.
The Packaging & Texture – Look & Feel
The packaging of the new Simple kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser looks the same as the Simple cleansing lotion. I believe all Simple lotion format products come in green & white colored bottles with flip-top lids. The product comes in 100% recyclable packaging which makes the color of the bottle a little greyish, not pure white! Except for the ingredient list, you’ll find all the other details on the bottle.
New Simple replenishing rich moisturiser has a lotion-type texture with a consistency that’s neither too runny nor too thick! In short, its texture is slightly thinner than cream and thicker than the lotion. The formula is fragrance-free, hence great for people with sensitive noses & skin!

How To Use & What It Does- Performance:
Simple Kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser says it’s suitable for all skin types. Therefore, to moisturize your skin, you need to take a little amount of it (the amount depends on your skin type & dryness) and apply it to your clean face and neck.
After cleansing my skin with a hydrating face wash, I use a face mist and serum to prep my skin. Then I take a fair amount of the moisturizer and apply it liberally to the skin. It is my usual skincare routine which I update and change as per season and skin conditions.
At times, I layer it with another sunscreen (for extra skin protection) or facial oil (to get rid of extreme dryness and seal in the moisture) as the last step of my daily skincare routine. Oh! These days, I am also using La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo lotion (for the blemishes) on top of my moisturizer. It doubles up as sunscreen ❤️.
It was summer when I bought this Simple rich day lotion and started using it. Upon application, the lotion glided smoothly on the skin and left no greasy residue. Despite a thick texture, it gets absorbed into the skin nicely and quickly. This rich replenishing moisturiser truly felt rich at that time and kept my skin hydrated the whole day! So I started using it alone without any face mist/serum in the morning. Even though it didn’t feel too heavy on my skin, I felt my combination skin felt much better when I used it alone (tiny amount) during the hot summertime.
Now in November, when the weather is much cooler in London, I need to use all my hydrating products, like face mists and serums, before applying this moisturizer. This way, it keeps my skin nourished for a long time. I also use it as my hand cream some times and it does its job perfectly!
The presence of several beneficial nourishing ingredients such as Niacinamide (anti-acne, soothing & skin brightening, Vit B3), Panthenol (Pro Vitamin B5), Bisabolol, Allantoin (skin soothing), Glycerin, Urea & Serine (skin-identical, nourishing agents), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E, anti-oxidants), make this Simple replenishing rich day moisturiser an effective product for dry and sensitive skin!
Those with oily skin can definitely try this lotion in the winter season. If you have mature skin with wrinkles, fine lines, and severe dry patches, this is not the ideal day lotion for you! Rest skin types (normal, combination to dry) can use Simple Replenishing rich moisturiser throughout the four seasons!

The Review At A Glance:

A: Simple kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser comes in a white 100% recycled plastic, opaque bottle secured with a green-colored flip-top cap! The product packaging bears all the necessary product-related information.
Q. Is it travel-friendly?
A: I got a 125 ml sized product which is a bit heavy and not travel-friendly. I prefer traveling with sample-sized products.
Q. Where the product was manufactured?
A: Simple replenishing rich moisturiser with Vitamin B5,E, Niacinamide is made in Hungary.
Q. How is its texture?
A: Simple rich moisturiser has a smooth creamy texture with a consistency slightly thinner than cream and thicker than the lotion.
Q. What’s the shelf life of Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser?
A: 6 months from the date of opening the bottle
Q. What’s the current price of Simple replenishing rich moisturiser?
A: I purchased this from the BOOTS store, London. You can purchase this new version from Amazon (£3), Ocado (£3), British Corner shop site (£5).
Kindly note, price may vary!
Q. How and when to use it?
A: The brand recommends applying a hazelnut sized portion into your hands and smooth gently into your face and neck using upward and outward movements.
I have explained the detailed process of how I use it every day under “MY EXPERIENCE” section, check it out, please.
Q. Does SIMPLE Kind to Skin replenishing rich moisturiser have any harmful ingredients & side effects?
A: Well, it contains icky ingredients such as Stearyl Alcohol an emollient (with an Irritancy, comedogenicity Rating 2-2), Stearic Acid (with an Irritancy, comedogenicity Rating 2-3). But this rich moisturiser contains several skin-friendly goodie and superstar ingredients as well!
However, before you buy this product, kindly read the ingredients carefully. You may find some components that you are allergic to, especially if you have severe acne-prone, sensitive skin! Then, don’t get it. Better be safe than sorry.
Q. Can Oily skin people try SIMPLE rich moisturiser?
A: Logically, people with oily skin should avoid any product that’s advertised as a RICH/CREAMY formula. Since Simple replenishing rich moisturiser says it’s suitable for all skin types, you might think about whether it’s worth the try! In my opinion, you can try this non-greasy, lightweight, alcohol-free moisturizer if your skin is experiencing dryness in the winter season or if you are traveling to a coldest region. In the summers, this will feel truly rich for your skin.
Q. Can Acne-prone skin people try SIMPLE replenishing rich moisturiser?
A: Well, it does contain a couple of ingredients, that have comedogenic and irritation ratings around 1-3. I have sensitive, acne-prone skin. I have been using Simple skincare products for the past three years and to date, no one ever broke me out! They are truly kind to skin ❤️. Therefore, if you have acne-prone skin, you can give the NEW Simple rich moisturiser a try!
Q. What’s the best thing/USP of this Simple rich moisturiser with Vit B5,E & Niacinamide?
A: Non-comedogenic, soothing, and hydrating formula!
- It is true to its claim of being kind to skin (a vegan, cruelty-free brand with no harsh chemicals)
2) Its hydrating, hypoallergenic formula keeps my combination to dry, sensitive skin nourished and acne free.
CONCLUSION:
Suffice it to say,
The new Simple kind to skin replenishing rich moisturiser with Pro-Vit B5, E, and niacinamide is a lovely hydrating, non-sticky day moisturizer, not only for the face but for the hands, as well. The formula contains chemical sunscreens (no SPF is mentioned on the packaging, though). But for extra protection, slather your specific sunscreen before heading out.
I liked using it alone in summer, right after cleansing my face. And during the colder months, I prefer using it on top of my hydrating face mist and serum 🙂. Either way, it keeps my combination skin well moisturized and happy. Always listen to your skin and tailor your skincare products/routine as per the requirement 😉.
Good for all skin types, best suited for DRY & SENSITIVE SKIN
