My Experience with The Body Shop®Satsuma Shower Gel (review)
(My body Skin Type: dry & sensitive, Husband- Oily, acne-prone)
Satsuma is a mandarin orange fruit grown in China. If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I am fond of colorful and strong-scented shower gels. Out of all the shower gels (mango, shea, pink grapefruit, strawberry) we have tried from The Body Shop®, so far, Satsuma shower gel is a hit in my family.
This is my husband’s and father’s favorite shower gel. But is it the same with me? Keep reading!
The Packaging & Texture
The Body Shop® has revamped the packaging of its products recently. Earlier, the Satsuma shower gel used to come in a transparent plastic bottle. But now, it comes in a dark-colored recyclable plastic bottle with a flip-top cap. You can find the product-related details on the packaging itself.
The Body Shop® Satsuma body wash has a thick gel texture and is light orange in color, just like the satsuma mandarin fruit. It has a refreshing, zesty, citrusy fragrance!
How To Use The Body Shop Satsuma shower gel
To cleanse your skin, you required using only a tiny amount of this shower gel.

What It Does- Performance:
As soon as it comes in contact with water, it produces a rich lather. Thanks to the presence of SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate). I like using foamy cleansers for my skin and hair. However, seeing the SLES at the second top position of the ingredient list upsets me a bit. FYI, SLES is still better than SLS because it’s much safer and gentler on the skin compared to Sodium Laurel Sulfate (SLS). If you are completely against using surfactant-based (SLS/SLES) skincare products, skip this one!
Mr. husband and I love its cool, refreshing, and zesty mandarin fragrance. The fragrance lasts for a good amount of time. Take a shower with this body wash & its uplifting satsuma fragrance will wake you up instantly in the summer mornings! As a body wash, it cleanses the skin perfectly by removing dirt, sweat, and impurities. It gets washed off easily and doesn’t leave any residue on the skin. It leaves your skin feeling clean, fresh, and revitalized post each use.
My father and husband always say-this refreshing shower gel is such a pleasure to use. My husband has oily skin. And this shower gel never dried out his skin (dad has normal skin). However, in my case, it’s the other way around! Despite the presence of glycerin and aloe vera in it, I need to run for body oils/lotions immediately post-shower. My skin had no issues with this shower gel in the summer though! In winter, I prefer using moisturizing shower gels for my skin.
I anyway use body oils and moisturizers every day, summer or winter. Plus, I keep rotating my skin and hair care products as per seasons, mood, and skin conditions. So basically, I have no issues using products that claim to be suitable for all skin types! But, if you have dry skin, you better try out The Body Shop® extra nourishing Coconut, Almond, Avocado shower creme, Hemp, and Shea shower gels. They are ideal for dry and sensitive skin.
Honestly, I use Satsuma shower gel simply for its tempting fragrance 😉. The Body Shop® shower gels are usually expensive, so we always stock up on them when they are on offer. You can do the same! The best part is this brand comes up with great offers now and then. You can follow me on social media for regular updates on their offers and deals.
