My Experience With Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturizing Body Oil (Review):
(My body skin type – Dry)
I have been using Palmer’s body oils and moisturizers for the past few years. Every alternate year, they either revamp the packaging and formula of the oils or introduce a new product. Since I love their skincare products, I always stock up on oils and foot creams. I know I should have reviewed this product earlier as they’ve already launched their new variant – Coconut Hydrate Body Oil, made with a radiance-enhancing blend of oils. Anyway, today, I’ll share my experience with their moisturizing body oil, which is still available at some beauty stores like Superdrugs.
Product Packaging:
Palmer’s Moisturising Body Oil comes in a 250ml translucent plastic bottle with a disc/pressed cap. The disc top cap makes it easy to open the bottle with our wet or greasy hands. But it is removable, so pour the oil onto your palm as you want. I find dispensing the product through a pressed cap more comfortable, though!
You can find all the product-related information on the packaging. Between this bottle and other previous models, the only difference is its blue color-coded label, nothing else! If sealed correctly, the packaging is leakageproof (saying from my personal travel/house-moving experiences).
Texture of Palmer’s Moisturizing Body Oil:
The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturising body oil is light yellow colored and has a lovely scent to it.
How I use It:
Since this body oil is specially designed for bath, body, and shower routines, I don’t use it on my hair. I take a generous amount of this oil to moisturize my dry, dehydrated skin after the shower. After a minute, I use a slightly damp hot towel to wipe away the excess oil from my skin. You can also use it as a bath oil for a spa or a full-body massage. I simply use it as a post-shower body oil.

Does Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Oil feel greasy?
Nope, not at all! Despite containing rich nourishing oil extracts, Palmer’s cocoa butter body oil is lightweight and non-greasy. It doesn’t matter whether it is summer or winter, greasy or non-greasy oil; it is my old habit to use a hot towel after an oil massage. And I cannot change this habit! I again follow it up with a hydrating body moisturizer post-shower.
If you are worrying about staining your clothes, no worries. On some days, I intentionally skipped wet towels and body lotions. This body oil never stained my innerwear/dresses.
How the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Oil works?
It requires using only a small amount of this moisturizing oil to nourish your dry skin. The oil quantity depends on your skin’s needs, though! Upon application, the oil releases a sweet scent and gets absorbed by the skin quickly.
I love that its divine fragrance lingers for a good period of time! Enriched with rich cocoa butter and vitamin E, it imparts shine and smooth effects to my skin. Post usage, my skin feels plumper, softer, and supple.
It keeps my dry, rough skin nourished for about 10-12 hours, even if I skip the body lotion. Hence, in my case, its claim of providing 48 hours of moisture doesn’t prove true!
A few years back, I tried Palmer’s Vitamin E body oil with spray packaging, which I feel was way lighter than the Cocoa Butter formula oils.
After using old and new versions of body oils from their Cocoa Butter range, I can say that I have seen no major difference except branding! Everything is the same in terms of look and feel, moisturizing ability, fragrance, or ingredients. Since this oil works great for my skin, I’ll keep purchasing it until I find something better!
Is Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Oil Great For Dry Skin?
Yes! Even though Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Oil is designed for all skin types, it’s perfect for dry and Eczema skin. This moisturizing body oil is free from paraben & phthalate but contains the artificial Fragrance (Parfum) ingredient! Hence, before you purchase this body oil, please check the ingredient list carefully. Personally, I like using scented beauty products
