My Experience With Simple Age Resist+ Facial Wash (Review)
(Skin type – Combination, sensitive & acne-prone)
I have been using this face wash for the past few months, and that’s why I thought of sharing my experience with you now. I like to rotate my skincare products depending on seasons and my skin conditions. As a skincare bestie, I’d recommend this to you as well! You need to understand your skin, its needs, and its requirements really well. Whenever acne flares up or my skin feels dehydrated, I know exactly what to use to calm and heal it, and Simple products are one of them 🩷.
Product Packaging:
The Simple Age Resist+ Facial Cleanser comes in a nice flat-oval (pill-shaped) bottle with slightly rounded edges, making it easy to grip. The bottle is clean, matte white, contrasted by a vibrant teal/forest green label section on the lower half. It uses a white pump-action top for hygienic and controlled dispensing.

You can find all the important details on the body of the face wash. I don’t think it’s very travel-friendly, so it’s better to transfer a small amount into another container while traveling. Or just get a mini Simple face wash, like I always do!
I purchased this large 240 ml cleanser bottle from our local Boots store. I’m not sure whether it’s available in other sizes. I don’t mind big bottles of face wash though, I run out of them pretty often. The bottle is recyclable, but the pump is not.
Product Texture:
The Simple Age Resist+ face wash has a clear, translucent gel with a slightly pearlescent, cloudy tint. It has a medium viscosity and zero fragrance. So if you’re sensitive to scented skincare, this one is for you!

Product Performance:
The Simple Age Resist+ Facial Wash is designed for skin barrier care and regeneration. Now that I am stepping into my 40s, moving toward the “mature skin” phase, I feel it’s the right time to take extra care of my skin. This facial cleanser contains hydrating actives and is meant to leave the skin feeling soft rather than “squeaky clean” or stripped, which, thankfully, it does!
You only need a tiny amount of this face wash, just one pump, to cleanse your face and neck. I lather it in my hands, massage it onto wet skin, and rinse thoroughly after a few seconds. It has a classic gel-based formula that instantly transforms into a light, velvety foam when mixed with water. It glides easily over the skin without causing friction or tugging and rinses off effortlessly.
This Age Resist+ facial cleanser contains skin-friendly, nourishing ingredients, including 3% hydrating actives (to attract water to skin cells), antioxidant green tea, and mushroom. However, it also contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), which is gentler than SLS though! So yes, I was a bit doubtful about its “hydrating” claim, to be honest. But so far, it has been doing a great job for my combination, sensitive skin!
As a cleanser, it effectively removes impurities without drying out the skin or disrupting its natural balance. It’s also non-comedogenic, so it doesn’t clog pores. It neither caused irritation nor breakouts, which is always a win!
My face feels clean, soft, and fresh after each use, at least for about half an hour! After that, my skin starts feeling slightly dry and tight and craves a hydrating moisturizer. I usually never skip my proper CTM (cleansing-toning-moisturizing) routine, but sometimes I have to leave my skin bare because of household chores or, honestly, just life getting in the way. I prefer applying serums and moisturizers on slightly damp skin so they absorb better! Despite containing SLES, it still keeps my skin relatively soft, thanks to the presence of hydrating actives, glycerin, and panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) 🥰.

Wait!
Does this Simple Age resist+ facial wash remove sunscreen and make-up?
Simple Age Resist+ cleanser does remove sunscreen effectively. However, it’s not very efficient at removing makeup. I use it as the second step in my double cleansing routine after removing heavy makeup with a cleansing balm. That way, it works much better.
Also, did I mention this face wash is tear-free? No more stinging or burning around the eyes ❤️. Honestly, I love Simple face washes. To me, they all feel quite similar. I haven’t noticed any major visible difference between this and its other variants.
That said, I do believe in long-term benefits, so I’ll continue using this Age Resist+ cleanser for now, at least until I find something better. Who knows, they might launch something even more exciting for 40+ skin soon 😍!
My vanity is always stocked with Simple facial cleansers. What about you?
