My Experience with Molton Brown Delicious Rhubarb & Rose Bath & Shower Gel (Review):
I received this travel-size Molton Brown shower gel in one of my old beauty subscription boxes. Since I was already using other body washes at that time, it stayed in my bathroom stash until a few months ago. I checked the expiry date and thankfully, it got the green signal. My husband is a fan of Satsuma shower gel from The Body Shop, but I like this rosy-grapefruit scented body wash more 🩷!
Packaging:
Molton Brown Delicious Rhubarb & Rose shower gel comes in a 300 ml transparent, recyclable plastic bottle (made from 50% recycled plastic, excluding the cap, in England) as well as refill packs. I had the 100 ml travel-size bottle, which looks almost the same as the full-size version. However, the sample size isn’t available on the site at the moment, so you’ll have to buy either the 300ml, 400ml (which comes in an aluminium bottle), or the refill versions.
Anyway, you can find all the important details on the packaging itself. The bottle looks really cute and luxe at the same time! The travel-size version has a screw cap, so it’s travel-friendly if packed securely.
Texture:
Molton Brown Delicious Rhubarb & Rose Bath & Shower Gel has a light pink (almost clear) gel texture and runny consistency with a strong, irresistible fragrance.

Performance:
To cleanse your skin, you need only a small amount of this body wash on a loofah or in your palm. It lathers beautifully, so if you like bubbly, foamy shower gels you won’t be disappointed.
The Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose bath gel is alcohol-free, 100% cruelty-free, and infused with impressive ingredients, including four sunscreen agents (Benzophenone-4, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, and Ethylhexyl Salicylate). Key ingredients also include Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Salicylic Acid, and Glycerin. Honestly, this is my first body wash that contains sunscreen!
The best feature, though, is its strong floral-fruity aroma. The brand mentions that Senior Perfumer Vanessa Prudent, inspired by her childhood baking memories, created this almost edible, award-winning scent. The top note is bright grapefruit, the heart is tart rhubarb, and the base is creamy vanilla. Now you can imagine how delectable the fragrance must be!
Every time I used this shower gel, my bathroom would smell amazing. Let me share a short, slightly panicky moment from last year’s get-together. I was feeling unwell that day, but as our sweet friends came over for a movie night, I ignored my sickness as usual. By evening I felt really bad and rushed to the bathroom to throw up. While I was in there, my husband’s friend’s wife also wanted to use the bathroom. I panicked because I had kept the room freshener in our store room instead of the bathroom cabinet! So, I quickly poured this shower gel into my palm and washed my hands, hoping it would release its rich, fizzy fragrance fast. Voila, it worked! It masked all the bad odors and made the bathroom smell tempting, haha 😜 . Have you ever tried a trick like that?
As a body wash, it cleanses the skin effortlessly without leaving any slimy residue. It rinses off easily and doesn’t make skin overly dry. I usually follow up with a body oil, so I didn’t notice any extra dryness. The fragrance lingers on the skin for a good while, provided you don’t layer a strong-scented body lotion on top.
I finished this sample size last year, and I’m now planning to get a larger bottle from their floral line.
