My Experience With Biossance 100% Squalane Oil (Review):
[Skin Type: Combination, Hair: Oily Scalp with dry ends]
My skin has a love-hate relationship with oils. I’d say the hate percentage is higher because regular oils tend to cause breakouts almost instantly! I did a lot of research before buying this squalane oil, and I’m glad I gave it a try. Oils have never been an issue for my hair, though! In fact, my scalp and dry hair ends love a good oil massage once a week.
Product Description:
The Biossance oil bottle comes encased in a tall, rectangular cardboard box featuring an off-white background with a dark green accent bar along the bottom edge. The oil itself comes in a dark, translucent green plastic bottle with a rounded body. The bottle features a white pump dispenser set into a matte metallic gold collar. All the necessary product-related information is printed on both the outer box and the plastic bottle.

The pump also includes a secure, clip-on travel stopper that locks the dispenser mechanism, helping prevent leaks during transit. So it’s absolutely travel-friendly.
Product Texture:
Biossance Squalane Oil has a clear, fragrance-free liquid texture.

Product Performance:
You can use this vegan, multipurpose oil almost everywhere, from head to toe. I mainly use it as a facial massage oil and during winter as the last step in my moisturizing routine. I don’t use it on my body or hair because I have other dedicated oils to cater to those needs.

Since this sugarcane-derived squalane oil is fragrance-free, it may be a good option for sensitive skin. This lightweight oil is also non-comedogenic, meaning it is formulated not to clog pores. At least in my case, this proved true! I was super skeptical about oils because I have acne-prone skin. However, this pure squalane oil proved that not all oils are bad for the skin. Thankfully, it never irritated my skin or caused breakouts ❤️.
Upon application, it looks and feels a bit greasy on the skin, but once the oil gets absorbed, you’re good to go. It instantly hydrates the skin, making mine look radiant and healthy. However, I particularly prefer using it at night during winter rather than in the morning. You need only a small amount of this oil for each use, so one bottle lasts a long time, too!
During the colder months, I follow a highly nourishing CTM (cleansing, toning, and moisturizing) routine at night. After cleansing my face with a gentle, hydrating face wash, I apply a nourishing serum and a soothing eye cream, followed by a rich night cream. After a few seconds, I apply about two drops of this Biossance Squalane Oil all over my face and neck as the last step in my routine to seal in moisture. This way, my skin stays hydrated throughout the night, and I wake up to glowing skin without any dryness!

I also use Biossance Squalane Oil once a week as a facial massage oil with my gua sha tool. It helps the jade gua sha glide smoothly across my face, neck, and décolletage. Whenever I shave my face with a razor or use Veet wax strips, I apply a small amount of this squalane oil to soothe and moisturize my skin, followed by a cooling aloe vera gel.
You can certainly use it to tame flyaways and frizz, but I don’t prefer using oils on my hair. I already have thin hair that gets greasy quickly. So, I use Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Weightless Serum, which combines oil and serum and works great for my hair type. My review is coming soon, so stay tuned!
EE RATING:
5/5
CONCLUSION:
To sum up,
Biossance 100% Squalane Oil is a wonderful, fragrance-free, vegan, lightweight, multipurpose oil that helps keep your skin hydrated. It may also be suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin, depending on individual skin needs. My sensitive skin loves this oil. I’m on my second bottle, and I highly recommend giving it a try!
If you’re looking for a lightweight, plant-derived oil for your skin, Biossance 100% Squalane Oil is worth considering, especially if you prefer fragrance-free skincare.
